Anaïs created the unscented aesthetic candles of my dreams

If you’re an Instagram scroller or Pinterest lover (like me), chances are you’ve stumbled upon the indie brand Anais Candle more than once before, maybe even without realizing it.

Incredibly aesthetic, her candles are like tiny works of art that add all the luxury vibes. After following the brand’s Instagram page for a while and coveting just about every candle on offer, I finally got my hands on it to see what it was all about. Spoiler alert: I am obsessed.

Arriving in carefully wrapped individual cardboard boxes and adorable ribbons, I received candles from the brand’s Greek Sculpture collection (probably the most recognizable among social media scrollers), along with the range French Dessert (because, well, I’ve never seen candles quite like these).

Inspired by ancient Greek figures, artwork, architectural structures, candy, romance and beyond, each candle is handcrafted by local artists in New York and formulated to be non-toxic with all-natural beeswax and soy wax.

I was immediately impressed by Anaïs’ attention to detail and originality as a whole. Many candles were unscented (namely the Greek-themed products) – which makes sense, given that the brand prioritizes visual art that inspires over practicality than others. brands can provide.

In other words, it seems like many candles are designed as decorative pieces, rather than a typical candle that you’d burn out in a few weeks.

That being said, French desserts feature perfectly sweet aromas, but not overpowering for those with more sensitive noses. One of my favourites? The Milk Cherry & Cereals Candlethat feels exactly how it sounds and looks so realistic that you almost want to take a bite.

In short? Anaïs is as cool as I suspected. Candles can seriously amp up the decor factor in your personal space, and best of all, they can perfectly complement any aesthetic you might have. While candles are of course made to burn and set the mood in your home with dream lighting, I can see myself keeping them extinguished and sprinkled throughout my space as unique works of art instead.
