Kuteerams to reflect the art and crafts of AP
Visakhapatnam: The walls of the interiors reflect the aesthetic beauty of heritage and culture. Whether it’s the whimsical scarecrow winking with its tongue sticking out or part of the collection of books neatly stacked on shelves or Etikoppaka toys arranged on the shelves, the newly furnished living room the lobby at the Palm Beach hotel reflects the pristine charm of state art and craftsmanship.
Inspired by the heritage and culture of Andhra Pradesh which also has a touch of Greek art, “Kuteerams”, an extended heritage wing of Palm Beach, will soon be available to tourists.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, hotel general manager Sandeep Reddy said the idea was to bring various flavors to the state through arts and crafts. After a year of in-depth research, Sandeep Reddy added that the cottages, which will open on December 2, reflect a fusion of contemporary and traditional elements of Andhra Pradesh’s rich heritage and culture.
Elaborating that the new facility provides a breath of fresh air, Corporate Vice President Bajaj Hotels Private Ltd Mitali Bajaj said, âWith 10 one-bedroom cottages in the works on the premises, ‘kuteeram’ is a personalized product for travelers who prefer to go beyond cookie-cutter rooms and look forward to a new experience during their stay here. ”
Interior designer Ameet Mirpuri said 80 local artists were given a platform to showcase their skills on a larger canvas as part of the new initiative.
